For builders & construction

Your best advert
is the job you are on.

Building work is the easiest thing in the world to film and the most commonly wasted. Every job has a proper before and after, visible progress, and a moment where it comes together, and almost all of it ends up as a handful of photos on a phone nobody ever looks at again.

Filmed on a live site, around the work

A phone and a small mount fit round scaffolding, a stripped floor and four trades in one room. A camera crew does not. That is the practical reason this works on construction jobs where a proper shoot would be impossible to justify.

Site rules, inductions and anything the client will not have on camera get sorted before anything is filmed, not argued about on the day.

Before and after is undefeated

It is the oldest format in the trade for a reason: it shows the value rather than claiming it. The catch is that it only works if somebody filmed the before, and the before happens on a day when nobody is thinking about content.

Planning which jobs get filmed, and when, is most of what turns this from an idea into something you actually have.

It does a second job on quotes

Someone about to let a builder into their house for three weeks will look you up first. What they find decides whether your quote is read hopefully or suspiciously, and a feed that shows real finished work does more for that than any amount of copy.

It is also what separates you from the three other quotes, which usually have nothing at all.

Before you ask

Questions that come up.

Can you film while we are working on a live site?

That is the point of filming mobile-first. A phone fits round a working site in a way a crew does not, so the job keeps moving while it is being filmed. Site rules, inductions and anything a client will not allow on camera get sorted beforehand.

Do you need permission from our client to film their house?

Yes, and it is worth getting that settled early rather than on the morning. Plenty of people are happy to be filmed if they are asked properly and told what it is for; some are not, and that is fine. There is usually another job.

We are a two-man outfit. Is this only for bigger firms?

Sole traders and small teams are a lot of the work. Because there is no crew and no studio, the cost of being filmed does not scale with how big you are.
